Molecular magnetism

During the last decades, driven by the continuous advances in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Molecular Magnetism became a mature research field, devoted to go beyond the actual knowledge into the understanding of magnetism at the molecular level and its plausible applications. NANOMOL, as a specialist in the design, synthesis and characterization of organic multifunctional materials, has been strongly involved on Molecular Magnetism since 1985 making several relevant discoveries. Our current research is mainly focused on the exploitation of multifunctional stable organic open-shell molecules -radicals and radical-ions- as active element of switchable electro-magnetic devices and for using them as polarization agents for dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) and as contrast agents in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
