A patent developed by researchers of the NANOMOL research group (ICMAB-CSIC) has been licensed to the biotechnological company HEBER-BIOTECH

The agreement will allow the development and commercialization of a nanoformulated protein for the improved treatment of diabetic foot ulcers.

This license agreement arises from the patent generated through a co-operation between the research group of Prof. Jaume Veciana and Dra. Nora Ventosa belonging to the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona of CSIC, and the Center for Genetics Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) from the scientific polo of Havana Cuba.

Best Poster Prize at ECIS 2014 Conference

NANOMOL group has been awarded with the Best Poster Prize at the 28th Conference of the European Colloid and Interface Society, ECIS2014, 7th-12th September 2014 in Limassol, Cyprus.

The poster “Quatsomes: Highly Stable Nanovesicles Formed by Sterols and Quaternary Ammonium Surfactants” (L. Ferrer-Tasies, E. Moreno-Calvo, I. Cabrera, E. Elizondo, M. Cano-Sarabia, A. Ardizzone, M. Aguilella-Arzo, A. Angelova, S. Lesieur, S. Ricart, J. Faraudo, N. Ventosa and J. Veciana) was presented by Antonio Ardizzone and awarded as one of the best six over almost 150 posters, by Rob van Daalen, Publisher Colloids Journals at Elsevier.

The European Research Council grants extra funding to test commercial potential of a Marta Mas project

The Project: "Large Area organic devices with Bar-assisted meniscus shearing technology" is receiving ‘Proof-of Concept’ grants of up to 150.000€ from the European Research Council (ERC). Bar-assisted meniscus shearing is a novel technique to deposit thin films layers of organic semiconductors. This technology is of great interest to organic electronics because of the possibility to fabricate  large areas devices at high throughputs and low costs on a variety of substrates including flexible and transparent sheets of plastic.
