The European Research Council grants extra funding to test commercial potential of a Marta Mas project

martamas22 September 2014

The Project: "Large Area organic devices with Bar-assisted meniscus shearing technology" is receiving ‘Proof-of Concept’ grants of up to 150.000€ from the European Research Council (ERC). Bar-assisted meniscus shearing is a novel technique to deposit thin films layers of organic semiconductors. This technology is of great interest to organic electronics because of the possibility to fabricate large areas devices at high throughputs and low costs on a variety of substrates including flexible and transparent sheets of plastic.

This ‘top-up’ funding is planned to assist researchers who already hold an ERC grant to test the market potential of their frontier research. The European Research Council launched the initiative in 2011 to promote innovation arising from cutting-edge projects previously funded by the agency.
