BERENICE is a European research network (Collaborative Project) coordinated by Vall d’ Hebron University Hospital and its Research Institute (ICS-HUVH, Barcelona)) and participated by NANOMOL research group.

 Nanomol is providing its research and technology capacities for the encapsulation of benznidazole in Small Unilamellar Vesicles (SUVs). This new approach to provide a drug delivery system or nanomedicine will allow a release of the drug directly into the intracellular space, therefore increasing tissue drug concentration and avoiding side effects. A better toxic profile will be obtained because of the reduced amount of benznidazole used.
